Live sessions, coaching circles and applied assignments help you strengthen your leadership presence and plan the next step in your career.

Practised techniques for presence, influence and negotiation

A personal leadership and career plan, including sponsorship steps
A peer network of women leaders across African central banks
Who Should Attend
Open to all qualifying staff, particularly: Women in Management and Specialist Roles, Heads of Division, Senior Economists and Supervisors, Aspiring Leaders, High-Potential Professionals.
Why This Course Matters
Closing the Gap
Women remain under-represented in senior central bank roles across the continent. Targeted development builds the skills and visibility that help talented women move into senior positions.
A Lasting Network
Peer networks shape careers as much as formal training does. A cohort of women leaders across institutions gives you counterparts to call on long after the programme ends.
Institutional Strength
Diverse leadership teams make better-tested decisions and reflect the public they serve. Investing in women leaders strengthens your pipeline and supports your institution's inclusion commitments.
Programme
Module 1
The leader within: purpose, values & strengths
You will complete a leadership strengths assessment, clarify your values and leadership purpose, and set development goals that guide your coaching circle for the rest of the programme.
Module 2
Leadership presence & confident communication
You will practise executive presence, assertive communication and presenting to senior audiences, with feedback from peers and facilitators on recorded short briefings.
Module 3
Influence, negotiation & navigating the organisation
You will map the formal and informal power in your institution, practise negotiation and influencing techniques, and plan how to raise your visibility on work that matters to leadership.
Module 4
Resilience, wellbeing & leading teams
You will explore resilience and sustainable performance, address common barriers women leaders face, and apply inclusive team-leadership practices to a live challenge in your own team.
Module 5
Career strategy, sponsorship & your next step
You will build a career strategy covering mentoring and sponsorship, present a personal leadership plan to your cohort and agree how the peer network will continue after the programme.
Standards & Faculty Benchmark
WEPs (UN Women & UN Global Compact)
Seven principles for advancing gender equality in the workplace, used to frame the programme.
UN Sustainable Development Goal 5
SDG 5 on gender equality and women's leadership provides the wider context for the programme.
PAC Leadership Competencies Framework
PAC's six-competency framework structures the strengths assessment and personal leadership plan.
Many central banks have made public commitments on gender equality and inclusion. Aligning the programme to the WEPs and SDG 5 helps your institution show those commitments in practice, and gives your own development plan weight in talent and succession discussions.
