About This Event
“Learn to assess a jurisdiction, and see your own through an assessor's eyes.”
A multi-day, in-person course that trains experts to serve as assessors in AML/CFT mutual evaluations. You will work through the assessment methodology, the rating of technical compliance and effectiveness, on-site interview technique and report drafting, using case material from real evaluation cycles.
Who Should Attend
Open to all qualifying staff, particularly: Senior AML/CFT Supervisors, FIU Experts, Legal and Law Enforcement Specialists, Prospective Mutual Evaluation Assessors.
Why This Course Matters
Master the Methodology
Assessors must rate technical compliance and effectiveness consistently across jurisdictions. Training in the methodology builds the judgement to reach ratings that hold up in plenary discussion.
Insight for Home
Experts who have assessed other countries return with a clear view of their own jurisdiction's gaps. That insight is especially valuable when your own mutual evaluation comes round.
Regional Standing
Supplying trained assessors strengthens your jurisdiction's voice in its FATF-style regional body. With around eight sessions a year, staff can be released without long waits.
